At last, what was lost is recovered. A thousand pardons for my lengthy silence: it's a delicate system that we depend upon for our communication. I hope that nothing crucial had happened by writing.

Sumi-senseilăoshī, if I may ask an unusual question: is there any special kind of soap that you use for your hair? The Sphere's newest antics are proving very tiresome.

[OOC: Absence explanation = lost journal. Please bear with me. He'd have been around in person, though. Also now he's in a cliched anime and can't tie up his ~*~BUUUTIFUL BISHIE HAIR~*~ IseriouslyDEK.]

I am glad to see your writing again, Huo. You misplaced your journal, I gather?

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
My thanks, Simon-yīshēng. In my defense, given that I was in the Wilderness at the time, it might be more correct to say that the world misplaced itself around my journal.

[identity profile] pompous_today.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Quite a poetic way to put it.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
A passing fancy. The unusual inspires unusual descriptions.

[identity profile] dragonking.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It is quite a fragile means of communication.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[... that handwriting. Crap.]

Indeed, and so simple and humble in appearance, when in fact it is all but miraculous.

[identity profile] dragonking.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Aww, Huo.]

Miracles seem to be the Tree's specialty, though it is not always in our favor.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's avoiding you like the plague, okay.]

And so the marvelous becomes the everyday.

[identity profile] dragonking.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dang dragon-infested tree!]

A pity. Perhaps the mundane things will become the wondrous.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Some, I daresay, would prefer a peaceful existence to one riddled with wonders.

[identity profile] dragonking.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Not surprising. Few enjoy being treated like toys for invisible children.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That may be the most troubling aspect of it, indeed; yet not, perhaps, the most wondrous.

[identity profile] dragonking.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
No. There's nothing wondrous or magical about rulers using their subjects for amusement. A disappointment, truly. Ruling by fear and threats is quite pitiful.

On a lighter note, I've always found braids to handle troublesome hair well.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
In my humble estimation, what we have here in Edensphere is not precisely rulership.

Alas, that method, too, has been tried to no avail.

[identity profile] dragonking.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps not. By what name would you call it?

My sympathies. Perhaps the issue will pass.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
With your leave, I shall call it play.

I so hope. Though truly, little is disturbed save my dignity.

Mou~ Huo-san no ba~ka Do you mean shampoo? For washing your hair, I mean.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
If that is a specific kind of soap, then yes, that is what I mean. Although your hair is a rather unique case, Stellaris-gūniang.
lingeringlegacy: (from the stars)

[personal profile] lingeringlegacy 2010-11-25 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
The colour, maybe. But what I use to wash it does not differ from most people's.

Is your hair troubled?

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Strange as it is, the Tree appears to have developed some sort of personal vendetta against topknots.
lingeringlegacy: (nice)

[personal profile] lingeringlegacy 2010-11-28 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Alterations like that are often temporary, so you might not need special care in the long run.

But shampoo for regular washing is still recommended. The spa might have a specialist who can advise you in choosing a suitable variant.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That is indeed my hope. Try as I may, I cannot find a pattern in this latest case at all.

A specialist in hair? It sounds like quite an indulgence.
lingeringlegacy: (amused)

[personal profile] lingeringlegacy 2010-11-28 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Just another type of occupation, no?

Though I observed some people just pick based on how much they like the scent.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
If there are those who require it, then it's as dignified a profession as any. Though I fear, rather more of a vanity than is appropriate for a simple farmer like myself.

[identity profile] azhdarchidae.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a pain trying to carry these books around.

Maybe I should see about commissioning a bag...

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You should not have any difficulty finding something adequate in the Bazaar.

[identity profile] azhdarchidae.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
If they didn't assume everyone here would be human-shaped, I wouldn't.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That is, indeed, a different case altogether. Do you differ from that norm very sharply?

[identity profile] azhdarchidae.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Yeah, probably by about as much as is possible without changing the number of limbs or that whole bilateral symmetry thing.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
My sympathies. I see how that must make any number of things unusually difficult - including writing.

[identity profile] azhdarchidae.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, I manage. [Since she can't brace her hand against the page, the marker has to be held directly perpendicular to it, or directly above rather than at an angle.]

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
That is evident; I merely note that that is admirable.

[identity profile] azhdarchidae.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pause.]

I can't tell if you're being sincere or otherwise. Limitations of the medium, I guess.

Assuming it's the first, thanks.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
A fair point; I assure you that I am sincere. Adaptability is crucial for our lives here.

My thanks - gui-Youth? Is that correct?
spandexisyouth: (Beaming in JOY)

[personal profile] spandexisyouth 2010-11-27 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It is! Or was. I have my name now, it is Gai, but you can use Youth still if you would like!

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Gai, then. My congratulations on your discovery.
spandexisyouth: (confident)

Thank you!

[identity profile] sumi-eight.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
As Stellaris mentioned, we use shampoo to wash our hair rather than soap. Granted, it's a form of liquid soap. It's usually followed with a creme rinse which helps keep hair from becoming brittle or dry. These things aren't expensive and can be purchased at the bazaar.

[identity profile] getsome-sleep.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagined that someone would have come up with such an invention. Truly, a solution to everything.
